As a student who did a bachelor's program in a college (which has a number of departments with a beautiful ambiance), I was worried about coming to the stand-alone institute for mental health. However, "MSCIMHR is the best place that offered me a welcoming and friendly environment and the opportunity to grow both on the personal and professional fronts. Internships in different Mental Health settings gave me intense training and exposure in Clinical, Counselling, Rehabilitation, Special School, deaddiction, and the community mental health areas." Being a student at MSCIMHR has been a surreal experience. I completed my Post Graduation in this institute. I have learnt so many things here; not only academics but also some great experience at this campus. I got an opportunity to be a part of the Speak2us helpline as a student volunteer. There, I learned about counselling process. Through this opportunity I felt like I was a completely different person with more confidence and was able to do things on my own, to face the world, take on challenges and always keep my smile. Learnt statistics through my research. I got opportunity to do my internship at Ahana hospitals, Bodhi campus and Shristi campus. Through this opportunity I learnt to do mental status examination and how to handle a patient. Staffs at MSCIMHR are really awesome. They treat us like friends and give suggestions to improve my academic performance and also my self.
I am very happy to share my experience about the “Workplace Wellness” online certificate course a 40-hour program which gave great insight into work and workplace, workplace wellness, wellness challenges in workplace, wellness interventions, wellness imperatives, principles and model, organizational management and workplace counseling. The resource personnel were very interactive and gave great knowledge and shared their experiences. As a professional at a corporate organization, the knowledge gained is definitely going to help me bring a change in workplace wellness. I am looking forward to more such online courses from MS Chellamuthu Institute of Mental Health and Rehabilitation.
